Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Knowledge Loop. It is written to be read rather than to be survived, so it is short, numbered, and says the awkward parts out loud.
Last updated 20 August 2026 Knowledge Loop Limited
The short version
- Knowledge Loop is free to start, and you can use it without giving us an email address. An account with no email attached is lost if the device is.
- Nearly everything you read is written by an AI model and can be wrong. Do not rely on it for anything that matters, and report what looks broken.
- Courses and factoids are shared between all learners. Your progress is yours; the material is not.
- Premium is a monthly subscription that raises the daily limits, cancellable at any time, and gems are an in-app currency with no cash value.
- Be decent to other learners, and do not try to break or drain the service.
This box is a summary and nothing more. The numbered sections below are the agreement.
1.Who we are and what this agreement covers
Knowledge Loop is a learning app: short factoids to discover, short interactive courses to work through, and a review schedule that brings the key ideas back before you forget them. It is operated by Knowledge Loop Limited, a company registered in England and Wales.
These terms are the agreement between you and us. They cover the mobile app, the browser version at k-loop.app/app, this website, and every feature reachable from any of them. By using Knowledge Loop you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.
Some parts of the app involve other companies and their own rules apply alongside ours: payments go through Stripe, and an app installed from Google Play or the App Store is also covered by that store's terms. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your information and forms part of this agreement.
2.Who may use Knowledge Loop
You must be at least 13 years old to use Knowledge Loop. If the law where you live sets a higher age for agreeing to an online service on your own, then you need a parent or guardian to agree to these terms on your behalf, and they are responsible for your use of the app.
An account is for one person. Please do not share it, sell it, or let somebody else use it as though it were theirs. If you use Knowledge Loop as part of a school, a club or an employer, you also need their permission to do so, and each learner needs their own account.
3.Your account
Knowledge Loop starts without a sign-up. The first time you open it, the app creates an anonymous account so you can begin learning immediately. That account lives on that one device and nowhere else.
An anonymous account is lost for good if you lose the device, delete the app or sign out. We cannot recover it, because there is nothing that ties it to you. To keep your progress, connect an email address on the Account screen. We then send a six-digit code to that address, and entering it attaches the address to the account you are already using, so nothing moves and nothing is lost. The same code is how you sign back in later, or on a second device.
Keep access to that email address, and keep the codes to yourself. Anyone who can read your inbox can sign into your account. Tell us at enzo@k-loop.app if you think somebody else is using it.
You choose a username and a display name. They are visible to other learners, so they must not impersonate somebody else, and must not be offensive, misleading or an advert. We may change or reset a name that breaks this.
4.What the app teaches, and what it cannot promise
Almost everything you read in Knowledge Loop was written by an artificial intelligence model, and it can be wrong. Factoids, course outlines, chapter text, quizzes and the answers the in-app coach gives you are all generated. We ground a lot of it in public reference sources and we correct what we find, but we do not check every sentence before you see it, and we cannot promise that any particular statement is accurate, complete or up to date.
Please treat it as a starting point for your own curiosity rather than as an authority. In particular, nothing in the app is professional advice. Do not rely on it for medical, legal, financial, safety or any other decision where being wrong has consequences. Check anything that matters against a source that takes responsibility for being right.
If you spot something wrong, offensive or badly written, use the report button on the factoid, in the chapter menu or in a review session. Reports reach us with a copy of the material exactly as you saw it. Because the material is shared, one fix reaches every learner reading it.
The amount of material available to you depends on your plan, on how much has already been written about a subject, and on services outside our control. Some subjects run out; a course you were promised may take a moment to be written; generation sometimes fails and retries. That is normal operation rather than a fault.
6.What you write
You write a few things in Knowledge Loop: your names, messages to the in-app coach, explanations you type when mastering a course, the wording of a report, and any custom topic you add. That is your content and it stays yours.
You give us permission to store it, to show it back to you, to show the parts that are meant to be visible to other learners (your names, your profile, a journey you share), and to send the parts that need an answer to the AI provider that answers them. That permission lasts as long as we need it to run the service and no longer.
When you write something, you confirm it is yours to write and that it does not break the rules in the next section.
7.How you may use the app
Use Knowledge Loop for learning. Please do not:
- break the law with it, or use it to harass, threaten, defame or impersonate anybody;
- send the coach, or write into any field, material that is illegal, hateful, sexual, or aimed at getting the model to produce something harmful;
- try to get around daily limits, plan limits or prices, including by making extra accounts;
- automate the app, hammer the servers, or take material out of it in bulk by any means;
- probe, reverse engineer or interfere with the app, the website or the systems behind them, other than where the law says you may;
- file reports, friend requests or shares in a way designed to annoy other people rather than to use the feature;
- resell access, or present the app or its material as your own product.
If you break these rules we may limit, suspend or close your account. Where the problem is minor and fixable we will normally say so first.
8.Free and Premium
Knowledge Loop is free to use. The free plan includes a set number of freshly generated factoids, new courses and suggestion refreshes each day. Premium is a paid subscription that raises those limits. The exact numbers are shown in the app and can change; when they do, the app always shows the current ones.
The price
Every price you see comes from our payment provider at the moment you look at it, in your own currency where we support it and in US dollars otherwise, with tax included where it applies. The amount shown on the payment screen is the amount that will be charged.
Renewal and cancellation
Premium renews automatically each month until you cancel, and each renewal is charged to the payment method you used. You can cancel at any time from the Account screen. Cancelling stops the next payment; it does not refund the month you are in, and you keep Premium and its higher limits until that month runs out.
If you bought Premium through Google Play or the App Store, that store handles the subscription, and it can only be cancelled in the store's own subscription settings. The app will tell you when this applies and take you there.
Deleting your account is not the same as cancelling. It ends a card subscription immediately and gives up the rest of the month you paid for, because there is no longer an account to use it with. See ending this agreement.
Changing your mind
As a consumer you normally have fourteen days to change your mind about something bought online. Premium starts the moment you pay, at your request, so if you cancel within those fourteen days we may keep a fair amount for the part of the subscription you have already had, and refund the rest. Write to enzo@k-loop.app. Purchases made through an app store follow that store's refund process instead. None of this affects your legal rights if something we sold you was faulty or not as described.
Failed payments and price changes
If a payment fails, Premium ends when the paid period runs out and your account returns to the free limits. Nothing is deleted. We may change the price of Premium, and we will tell you before a change affects you, so that you can cancel first if you would rather not pay the new amount.
9.Gems and other virtual items
Gems are the in-app currency. You earn them by learning, from the daily chest and from streaks, and you can buy packs of them. You spend them in the shop on things like a streak freeze, an XP boost or aiming a course suggestion at a topic you choose.
Gems are a licence to use a feature of the app, not money. They have no cash value, they cannot be exchanged for money, transferred to another person or account, or taken out of the app, and they end when your account does. How many gems something costs or earns can change as the app changes.
A pack of gems is delivered immediately, which is why buying one ends the fourteen-day right to change your mind about that purchase, and you agree to that at the moment you buy. If a purchase does not arrive, or something goes wrong on our side, write to us and we will put it right.
11.Certificates
Finishing and mastering a course earns a certificate you can download, carrying the name you chose for it, the course, the date and a code. Anyone holding that code can check it on this website, which shows the name, the course and the date it was issued. Do not put a name on a certificate you would not want a stranger with the code to see.
A certificate is a record that you completed a course in this app. It is not a qualification, it is not accredited by anybody, and it does not certify competence in the subject. We may withdraw one that was obtained by breaking these terms.
12.Changes, interruptions and things we depend on
Knowledge Loop changes constantly. We add features, change how existing ones work, and sometimes remove one that is not earning its place. We will not remove something you have paid for during a period you have paid for without offering you a way out.
We do not promise the service will always be available. It depends on things we do not control, including your internet connection, your device, our hosting and payment providers, the AI provider that writes the material, and public reference sources. Parts of the app can be unavailable while one of those is.
Some things happen on your device rather than on our servers: reminders are scheduled locally by the device, and the time you spend learning is measured by the app. If the device is off, has notifications blocked, or the app is closed, those things simply do not happen.
13.Ending this agreement
You can stop using Knowledge Loop whenever you like, and you can delete the account yourself. It is in Settings, under Account, behind the Advanced section, and on this website for anyone who has already removed the app. In the app it asks you to type a word to confirm, because you are already signed in. On the website it sends a six-digit code to your address first, since being able to read that address is the only proof we have that the account is yours. Either way the account is erased immediately, and neither we nor you can bring it back. You can also write to enzo@k-loop.app and we will do it for you.
Signing out is not the same thing. Signing out of an account with no email connected loses your access to it permanently, because there is nothing left to sign back in with, but it is not a deletion: what is stored stays stored. If you want it gone, delete it.
If you are paying for Premium with a card, deleting cancels the subscription immediately, and whatever is left of the month you paid for goes with the account. If you bought it through Google Play or the App Store, only that store can cancel it, so cancel it there as well; otherwise the charges continue against an account that no longer exists.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is being used to harm other people, or where we are required to. If we do, and you have paid for a period of Premium you can no longer use, we will refund the unused part unless the reason for closing it was serious misuse.
Deleting an account removes your progress, your ratings, your reviews, your friendships and your profile. It does not remove the shared courses and factoids, which were never yours alone and which no longer name you once you are gone, and it does not remove records we have to keep, such as the invoices for payments you made. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what goes and what stays.
14.What we are responsible for
We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking this agreement or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that is not foreseeable, meaning loss that neither of us could have expected when you started using the app.
We never exclude or limit our responsibility where the law does not allow it. That includes death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, and your rights as a consumer to services carried out with reasonable care and skill and to digital content that is as described.
Knowledge Loop is supplied for personal learning. We are not responsible for business losses such as lost profit, lost revenue or lost opportunity, and we are not responsible for decisions taken on the strength of material the app generated. Section 4 explains why that material has to be checked before it is relied on.
Where the app produces something you keep, such as a certificate or a downloaded image, keeping your own copy is up to you. We do not promise to hold anything forever.
15.Changes to these terms
We update these terms when the app changes or the law does. The date at the top always says when they last changed.
For a small change we simply publish the new version. For a change that materially affects you, such as one about payment or your rights, we will give you reasonable notice in the app or by email before it takes effect, and you can end the agreement instead of accepting it. Using the app after a change takes effect means you accept the new terms.
16.Law, disputes and the small print
This agreement is governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes about it can be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom or in a country whose law gives you the right to bring proceedings where you live, that right is unaffected and you keep the protection of the consumer law that applies to you.
If a court finds part of this agreement unenforceable, the rest of it continues to apply. If we do not immediately enforce something, we have not given up the right to do so later.
You may not transfer your rights under this agreement to somebody else. We may transfer ours if the business changes hands, and we will tell you if that happens; it will not reduce your rights.
This agreement is between you and us. Nobody else can enforce it, other than a store or payment provider where their own terms say so.
17.How to reach us
Email enzo@k-loop.app about anything: a question about these terms, a complaint, a refund, or a request to delete your account. We answer from the same address.
For questions about your information specifically, the Privacy Policy says what we collect, why, and how to get a copy or have it erased.
Questions about this page
Write to enzo@k-loop.app and a person will answer.
10.Friends, profiles, leagues and sharing
You can add friends by searching a username or by handing out your invite link. Opening somebody's invite link makes the two of you friends straight away, so treat the link as public. Either person can remove the other at any time.
Your profile shows things like your level, streak, league, learning time, badges and the journeys you put on display. The Account screen has a switch for each of those, and anything switched off is never sent to the person looking at your profile. Level, XP and streak still appear on friend rows and league boards, because a league is a competition on exactly those numbers.
League boards include bot competitors. Leagues are weekly boards of up to thirty places, and while the app is young there are not always thirty real people in your league, so the rest of the board is filled with computer-controlled competitors whose scores grow through the week. Promotion and relegation work the same either way. There is no prize beyond the badge and the bragging rights.
Sharing a finished journey sends the course to a friend or produces a link that anyone can open. It shares the course and your name, never your progress: whoever accepts it starts at the first chapter. Anyone with the link can accept it, so send it to people you mean to send it to.
